<Poem>
明朝驛使發，
一夜絮征袍。
素手抽針冷，
那堪把剪刀。
裁縫寄遠道，
幾日到臨洮。
<End Poem>
<Translation>
Tomorrow at dawn
The messenger starts
For the front.

All night long
She sews
On a quilted coat.
Her pale fingers
Are numb
As she draws the needle
In and out;
And she can hardly hold
The icy scissors
As she cuts.

Now the coat is finished,
And she has sent it
On the long, long road.

How many days
Will it take
To reach Lin T'ao?
